This position requires a registered nurse with at least one year of experience to provide patient care on a 28-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in mixed acuity adults and pediatrics. The role involves managing patients with high-acuity conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, burns, and multi-trauma cases, with patient ratios typically around 1:6-7.

- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, and skills in trach care, ventilator management, IV therapy, PICC lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drains/tubes, and pulmonary patient care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-acuity care, pediatric patient care, or trauma units.
- Recent orientation includes online modules, in-person NVCI training, and specialized unit orientation scheduled from Monday through Wednesday.
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, managing complex medical equipment, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Floating: Floating within scope of practice to other units may be required.
- No on-call required, but holiday shifts are expected, with manager approval for time-off requests.
- Shift times: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, on a 6-week cycle.
- Scrub color: Galaxy Blue.
- Parking: Free parking with badge access in the parking garage.
- Important notes: Unit culture is very accepting of travelers and maintains the same standards as permanent staff.
