Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in the Johns Hopkins Hospital Zayed 11 East unit specializing in Orthopedic, Gastrointestinal, Spine, Trauma, and General Surgery care. This role involves providing pre- and post-operative bedside care for adult patients undergoing various surgical procedures on an inpatient acute and tele unit.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid RN license; 2 years current nursing experience; dysrhythmia management; BLS.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Requirements: Must have worked in a unit with patients who have had surgery, providing surgical care for orthopedic, ortho-spine, trauma, and neuro-surgery patients.
- Responsibilities include managing multiple levels of care in adult inpatient acute and tele units, with a Nurse/Patient ratio of 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night.
- Orientation sessions are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, with only December 2026 orientation scheduled for 12/14/2026.
- Candidates with previous employment within any Johns Hopkins facilities (staff, PRN, or travel) must have been gone for at least one full year before reapplying as a traveler. Verification is required prior to offer.
- Experience requirement: 0 years minimum.
