Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor: This position provides nursing care to patients with infectious diseases and complex medical-surgical needs, including isolation and respiratory conditions. The role requires strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing and infection-control precautions in an acute care setting.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) and at least two years of medical-surgical experience.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week; every other weekend, with holiday coverage based on operational needs.
- Additional Information: The unit includes 18 private rooms and serves patients with infectious diseases, isolation precautions, COVID-19, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Clostridioides difficile (C. diff). Patients may require continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), or high-flow oxygen managed with respiratory therapy support. Royal blue scrubs are required. Orientation includes one day of electronic charting system training followed by one day of unit-based preceptorship.
