Job Summary

Medical Surgical Floor RN Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical surgical setting. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.

Job Details

  • Position Description: The RN assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physicals, diagnostics, and lab data, reporting abnormal results as needed. Formulates and revises individualized care plans, including discharge planning, utilizing input from patients, families, and the healthcare team. Implements and coordinates care, delegates appropriately, and provides supervision where applicable. Evaluates patient and family responses to care and updates the care plan accordingly. Documents all assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely in the patient record. Participates in research activities, unit or facility leadership, and staff education to promote quality outcomes and professional growth. Maintains compliance with policies, regulatory and accreditation standards, and professional standards. Communicates effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts. Provides spiritual support in collaboration with clergy as appropriate.

  • Required Qualifications: Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or an equivalent license (temporary/interim or compact RN licensure), with BLS certification. Experience in the clinical area for which applying is preferred. Experience in an acute care hospital setting for at least one year within the past 12 months is required for acute care positions. Additional certifications or continuing education relevant to the specialty are preferred.

  • Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
