Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment at a teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Requires cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
• Involvement with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Performs IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Provides respiratory support including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Experience with isolation precautions and proper PPE use required
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted

• Provides direct patient care within a Med/Surg unit including monitoring, emergency response, and line management
• Works within a teaching hospital environment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of this health system are ineligible for travel assignments at any of its hospital locations
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict state credentialing timelines
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
