Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• 50% holiday rotation required
• Floating is mandatory, including to MS/Tele units and as a Patient Observer/Sitter
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central line blood draws and peripheral line management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and GI care such as colostomy/ileostomy management
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and rapid response/code team protocols
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients including medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy
• Respond to rapid response and code team situations as needed
• Work in a healthcare facility operating 24/7, 365 days a year, with exposure to contagious illnesses
• Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 10 days
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Re-orientation not required for returning travelers within 18 months of their last assignment
• Travelers may work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning in a travel capacity
