Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring MO or compact RN licensure and prior Med/Surg experience.

Details

• 57-bed max capacity Medical Specialties unit servicing internal medicine patients with a wide range of diagnoses
• Rooms feature video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric accommodations
• Charge nurse and supervisor present on every shift
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Average patient ratios of 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, with occasional increases to 1:6 days and 1:7 nights
• Floating required to MS and MS/Tele units
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; CPI preferred
• 2 years of RN experience preferred, with consideration given to candidates with 1.5 years of Med/Surg experience
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access, and PICC line management preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to internal medicine patients on a busy Medical Surgical unit
• Work in a healthcare facility operating 24/7, 365 days a year, with routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and inclement weather work may be required
• Required to work 50% of holidays falling within the contract period, with flexibility on which specific holidays are worked
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
