Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical RN for a night shift position requiring MO or compact RN licensure and med/surg experience.

Details

  • Medical Specialties unit with a 57 max capacity servicing internal medicine patients with a wide range of diagnoses
  • Rooms equipped with video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric accommodations
  • Charge nurse and supervisor present on every shift
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
  • 36 or 48 hour contracts available
  • Average patient ratios are 1:5 for days and 1:6 for nights, with occasional increases to 6 (days) and 7 (nights)
  • Mandatory floating to MS and MS/Tele units
  • Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required, CPI preferred
  • Minimum 1.5-2 years of Med/Surg experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Physical ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
  • Ability to work in a healthcare facility open 24/7/365, including rotating shifts and inclement weather conditions

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for internal medicine patients with a wide range of medical diagnoses
  • Work alongside charge nurse and supervisor support available every shift
  • Required to work 50% of holidays occurring during the contract, with flexibility on which holidays are worked
  • On-call availability and assigned weekend work required
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted; those residing within 50 miles are not eligible, those residing 51-74 miles may be offered a local rate
  • Local candidates will not be eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial term
