Job Summary
The Medical Surgical Floor Nurse position is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This role involves providing nursing care within a medical-surgical unit, supporting patient recovery and health promotion responsibilities. The position requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment, adhering to established protocols and standards of care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; one year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred; BLS certification from AHA required; RN License in the state of employment or in a compact state.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Medical Surgical (MS) specialty.
- Float: Will float to all Medical-Surgical departments under the supervision of Maya Sandoval.
- Nurse / Patient Ratio: 1:5-6.
- EMR Used: EPIC.
- Dress Code: Grey Scrubs.
- Summary: The competent Nurse in this role practices independently, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of the situation, including routine and complex care. The Nurse continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing, makes appropriate assignments and delegations, and provides education to patients and families.
- Responsibilities: Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients; administer medications and treatments following protocol; document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided; assess learning needs and provide education to patients and caregivers.
- Additional Information: This position is a backfill for a staff member originally scheduled for dayshift but unable to switch to night shift.
- Start Date: 08/10/2026.
