Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit during night shift hours
• Manage a patient population including diagnoses such as pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, altered mental status, and sepsis
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 on nights
• Float as needed to like Medical Surgical departments
• Fulfill every-other-weekend scheduling requirement
• Adhere to facility holiday scheduling policies; holiday time-off requests are subject to unit availability and manager approval

Required Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; at least 1 year must be in Medical Surgical
• Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Supervisor-level references required at time of submission
• Locals are welcome and accepted; no radius restrictions (note: a local rate may apply for travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
• Experience managing complex medical-surgical diagnoses such as sepsis, DKA, and heart failure
• Ability to adapt to variable staffing and charge nurse coverage models
