GLC On-The-Go is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse in Lafayette, LA. We are seeking dedicated RNs to provide exceptional care in a dynamic Med Surg environment. This contract role offers the opportunity to work night shifts, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life effectively.
Please ensure you are aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team," where there will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event were to occur. You should not apply for a role if you are not comfortable with the above.
Holiday Availability: Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require traveler coverage. Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation.
Requirements: Accepts 1st timers; 2 years of experience required.
Patient Diagnoses: Chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, PNA, HTN, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, syncope. Always potential for med-surg overflow (e.g., GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, COVID +).
Special Procedures/Unit Details: Pre/post cath lab, PPM/AICD, ablations post-op CABG, post-op thoracotomy, vascular surgeries (CEAs, fem-pops), AAA repair, titration of drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, heparin); sheath pulling at bedside. Every other holiday. Can be pulled to all other inpatient units. Unable to guarantee any specific scheduling requests (e.g., block scheduling).
Special Equipment: Telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, wound vacs.
