  • Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week based on scheduling needs
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
  • Orientation: Unit orientation provided after hospital-based orientation
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Employment Type: W2 travel assignment

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience required
  • Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license accepted for submittal
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred or required for consideration based on unit expectations
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • CPI certification preferred
  • Previous neuro, neurology, or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Experience with EPIC charting preferred
  • Must be comfortable floating within or near the facility as needed
  • Must be able to work night shifts and accommodate weekend coverage
  • Must be able to complete required pre-start screening and testing within the requested timeframe

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult med/surg and neuro patients
  • Monitor and assess patients recovering from neuro-surgical procedures and managing neuro-related diagnoses
  • Administer medications, maintain IV access, and support telemetry monitoring as needed
  • Perform ongoing assessments, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, respiratory services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
  • Support safe, organized care delivery while maintaining a patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • Adapt to unit needs, including floating and working scheduled weekends
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on quality patient outcomes
