Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,860
  • Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with longer contracts of 13–26 weeks potentially available
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
  • Shift Hours: 6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.; 36 hours per week
  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6, based on acuity
  • Call: Not required
  • Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Weekend coverage and holiday availability required
  • Floating: Required within or near the assigned facility as needed
  • Orientation: 24 hours
  • Time Off: Up to 7 days may be approved in advance; no time off during the first week or on holidays
  • Travel Experience: First-time travelers are welcome with the required cardiac experience

Cardiac Telemetry RN Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent cardiac nursing experience
  • Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state; a pending eligible license may be considered
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Strong experience with cardiac telemetry, rhythm interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and post-cardiac procedure care
  • Experience with medical-surgical, telemetry, progressive care, or step-down patients preferred
  • Familiarity with Epic documentation preferred
  • Ability to complete and pass a specialty EKG assessment before the assignment begins
  • Ability to manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, arterial line monitoring, sheath care, and related cardiovascular interventions

Cardiac Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric cardiac telemetry patients
  • Continuously monitor telemetry, recognize changes in cardiac rhythms, and promptly escalate clinical concerns
  • Care for patients with atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, valvular disease, cardiomyopathy, peripheral vascular disease, and other complex cardiovascular conditions
  • Deliver pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization, cardioversion, electrophysiology procedures, pacemaker placement, and vascular and thoracic surgeries
  • Perform or assist with sheath management and removal, chest tube care, TR band and Fem-Stop management, EKGs, IV therapy, wound care, and other unit procedures
  • Administer and monitor cardiac medications and drips according to clinical protocols and scope of practice
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Float to other appropriate units when needed and support patient care during high-volume, emergency, or disaster-response situations
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately using Epic and communicate effectively through SBAR
