• Shift: Night shift, 12 hours
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekends per 4 weeks, flexible
• Float Requirement: Float within or near the facility as needed; not first to float
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770 - $1,860

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be accepted for submission
• Minimum 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor
• Travel nursing experience preferred unless the candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, stepdown/PCU/IMC care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and post-MI care
• Ability to manage cardiac drips, chest tubes, non-invasive airway support, and sheath removal
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Open availability for interview and flexibility with floating and scheduling requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and vascular conditions
• Monitor telemetry, assess cardiac rhythms, and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and changes in patient status
• Care for patients recovering from CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Watchman procedures, vascular surgeries, and thoracic procedures
• Support post-cath, post-DCCV, and post-electrophysiology patients, including pacemaker placements
• Manage chest tubes, femoral sheaths, TR bands, fem-stops, and other specialty equipment as needed
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips according to unit protocols and provider orders
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively using SBAR and Epic
