  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
  • Float Expectation: Open to floating within or near the facility as needed

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiac floor, cardiac telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state; pending license may be accepted for submittal
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Strong experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
  • Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown care
  • Comfort with cardiac drips, post-MI care, post-cardiac cath patients, and sheath removal
  • Ability to work night shift nursing assignments and maintain excellent clinical judgment in a high-acuity setting
  • Must be willing to complete required testing and onboarding within the designated timeline
  • Epic charting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic conditions
  • Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond quickly to changes in patient status
  • Administer and manage cardiac medications and drips as ordered
  • Assist with post-procedural care for CABG, valve procedures, pacemaker placements, and other cardiac interventions
  • Support patients recovering from vascular and thoracic surgeries, including post-cath and post-DCCV care
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care
  • Perform thorough assessments, document accurately in the charting system, and communicate clearly with the care team
  • Maintain readiness to support unit needs during varied patient acuity and changing assignments
