• Position: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele)
• Location: Wilmington, NC 28401
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800 per week
• Orientation: 24 hours, with hospital orientation during the first week
• Target Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: 12-16 weekends per contract
• Floating: Floating required within and near the facility as needed
• Schedule: Based on unit needs
• Start Date: 10/19/2026

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience required
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Current BLS certification required
• Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license accepted; pending license may be considered for submission
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Epic experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Must be open to floating and working weekends as scheduled
• Must be able to complete pre-start testing and onboarding requirements within required timeframes

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric med/surg telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and therapies, including IV insulin and heparin protocols as indicated
• Perform thorough patient assessments and reassessments, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
• Support patients with common medical and surgical diagnoses such as COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, anemia, and GI bleed
• Manage wound care, isolation precautions, oxygen therapy, and other routine Med/Surg interventions
• Collaborate with rapid response and support teams as needed to promote positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to a positive, team-oriented unit culture
