Job Summary

Medical Surgical Floor. This position supports patients requiring surgical and trauma care in a high-acuity environment. The role includes caring for diverse patient populations, including patients with gunshot injuries, quadriplegia, and paraplegia, while collaborating with nursing support staff and other clinical team members.

Job Details

  • Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; proficiency with EPIC; at least 2 years of experience in the Medical Surgical specialty.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Schedule: Day shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; block schedules are not available, and assigned shifts must be accommodated.
  • Additional Information: High-acuity patient population includes surgical patients and patients with gunshot injuries, quadriplegia, and paraplegia. The patient ratio is 5:1. Nursing support technicians and phlebotomy services are available, with unit secretary coverage at night. Emergency department and admitting unit nurses complete nurse handoffs.
