Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Nashville, TN

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680–$1,770
• Location: Nashville, Tennessee — a vibrant destination known for its music scene, diverse dining, cultural attractions, parks, and welcoming neighborhoods
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Approximately 6 weekend shifts during the contract, based on the unit schedule
• Call: No call required
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling options available, based on department needs
• Orientation: Approximately 24 hours
• Floating: Float required to other medical-surgical and telemetry areas, with possible assignments to designated areas such as the ED, postpartum, and ICU
• Patient Population: Forensic and correctional populations, including patients from state and local prisons and jails
• Unit Size: Approximately 16 beds

Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or an active compact multistate license at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Current CPI certification; MAB certification may be accepted in place of CPI
• Telemetry nursing experience, including cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with Cerner or a comparable electronic medical record system
• Ability to provide safe, respectful, and professional care to incarcerated and forensic patients
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to complete a pre-start EKG assessment and required compliance education
• Availability to participate in required weekend and holiday rotations

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a secure forensic setting
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional standards
• Assess patients, develop and update individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Care for patients with complex medical needs, including underserved, uninsured, underinsured, and insured populations
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Cerner
• Collaborate with providers, nursing colleagues, correctional personnel, and interdisciplinary support services
• Float safely and effectively to other designated medical-surgical, telemetry, ED, postpartum, or ICU areas as needed
• Maintain a secure, therapeutic, and respectful care environment while following facility safety procedures
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday coverage as assigned
