Job Summary
Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing patient care on a Medical/Surgical floor, addressing a variety of diagnoses including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain, COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. The position requires adherence to clinical standards and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Position Description: The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical conditions on a Medical/Surgical unit.
- Required Qualifications: Active BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications; minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience; valid RN license; ability to read telemetry strips; experience with titrating drips such as analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives; flexibility with self-scheduling and working nights; commitment to work a 12-hour shift with at least 36 hours per week; must be in state during orientation week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC charting system, ability to float within hospital zones as needed.
- Schedule: Nights shift from 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The unit utilizes remote telemonitoring technology, and nursing staff is responsible for reading their own telemetry strips. The charge nurse may also take assignments and work alongside staff. The unit requires a minimum of six weekend shifts every six weeks, and self-scheduling is permitted. The orientation will be scheduled during the week before start date.
