Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Inpatient Overflow position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring GA or compact RN license and prior high-acuity trauma experience.

Details

• Work in the Inpatient Overflow / admission unit of a Level 1 trauma center
• Care for general medical and surgical patients awaiting surgery
• Rapid admission unit with faster patient turnover than a typical Med/Surg unit
• Patient ratio of 5-6:1 for Med/Surg RN
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling generally not approved

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg specialty required
• Prior experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospital settings required
• Proven success managing critical, fast-paced patient care situations
• Ability to communicate clearly and work independently
• Work history/resume with no employment gaps greater than 60 days
• Skills checklist matching the Med/Surg specialty required
• Certification card and Nursys license verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as the travel rate
