Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Renal Med/Surg unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Renal Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 49-bed unit with an average daily census of 48
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
• Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, oxygen administration) preferred
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central line and PICC line management preferred
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience preferred
• Cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for renal and general medical surgical patients
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, must be finalized at time of consideration
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Previous Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
