Job Summary
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor Nurse - Nights - Location: unspecified. This position involves providing care on a rehabilitation unit with a focus on adult patients with diverse diagnoses such as stroke, trauma, orthopedics, and neuro conditions. The role requires offering supportive and clinical care during night shifts, with responsibilities that include attending team conferences and managing patient flow according to unit protocols.
Job Details
- Schedule: Twelve-hour night shifts, Sunday through Saturday, every other weekend and holiday, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (AHA); minimum one year of relevant experience; current license to submit; candidates must have experience in medical-surgical rehabilitation or related fields; local candidates must reside within 80 miles of the facility with client rate considerations.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with rehabilitation patients, prior travel experience in a similar setting, or a background as a medical-surgical nurse with rehab exposure. First-time travelers with rehab experience are considered.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to med-surg tele units.
- Additional Information: The unit has 10 private beds, patient ratios of 1:5, and common diagnoses include stroke, trauma, orthopedics, and neuro conditions. Nursing staff will be responsible for managing IV fluids, antibiotics, and transitions to therapies such as CPAP/BIPAP. RNs are not required to read strips but will attend team conferences. Charge nurses may take patient assignments, with travelers eligible for charge nurse roles. Unit orientation includes two 12-hour shifts, and all clinicians must clock in/out at the facility. Candidates with prior experience at this facility must have an end date at least six months prior to submission.
