Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing (Med/Surg RN)
• Location: Albany, Georgia
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care, 44-bed medical-surgical unit
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour night shifts from approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Contract Duration: 17 weeks, from October 5, 2026, through February 1, 2027
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:5, with the possibility of 1:6
• Electronic Medical Record: MEDITECH; prior experience preferred but not required
• Orientation: One week of general orientation, including electronic medical record training, plus two unit-specific orientation days
• Additional Details: Caribbean blue scrubs; floating may be required to acute care and cardiovascular units to support medical patients or acute care holds

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Georgia
• At least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience
• At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current NIHSS certification through the American Heart Association
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Must meet the facility’s 75-mile travel eligibility requirement based on the address listed on the traveler’s driver’s license

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to acute medical-surgical patients throughout the night shift
• Perform focused nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly identify changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols
• Collaborate with providers, nursing assistants, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in MEDITECH
• Support patients requiring telemetry monitoring and communicate clinically significant findings to the appropriate team
• Provide patient and family education to promote understanding of treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment
