Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift assignment requiring NJ or compact RN licensure and 2 years of Med/Surg Oncology experience.

Details

• Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units required, including Ridgewood Observation Unit for those assigned to the Float Pool
• Meditech EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license
• 2 years of Med/Surg Oncology experience required (candidates with less than 2 years must have strong oncology experience to be considered)
• BLS certification required to start
• Prior travel nursing experience required, with no history of clinical or professional cancellations
• Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, starting and maintaining IVs, and central line/PICC line care
• Experience accessing and managing ports and administering blood and blood products preferred
• Experience administering chemotherapy preferred
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80% (no retakes permitted), demonstrating proficiency in EKG rhythm interpretation, heart rate calculations, and identification of arrhythmias and heart blocks
• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series and booster required
• One supervisory/manager reference dated within one year of the assignment start date required
• Current Nursys verification required

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to inpatient oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and port/line management
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for travel assignments
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at the local rate
• Candidates must begin required lab work within two business days of offer acceptance to avoid assignment cancellation
• Completion of facility-required training modules during orientation and annually as needed
