Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Oncology Floor. The Registered Nurse performs independent nursing and delegated medical functions in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; monitoring health data and treatment plans; providing health teaching and counseling; documenting care; and referring patients for additional evaluation or treatment as needed.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Associate of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing; current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Registered Nurse; Bachelor of Science in Nursing; unit- or service-appropriate certification.
- Additional Information:
- Provides supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly to patients or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or education of others.
- Performs health status assessments through ongoing collection and evaluation of health data.
- Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
- Refers patients for further evaluation or treatment when indicated.
- May float to other departments within the scope of competency and qualifications.
- May be required to participate in on-call coverage during a regularly scheduled shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
