Job Description – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN
Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS/BCLS
- NIHSS
- Active MO or eligible compact RN license, subject to facility licensing rules.
- Pending license may be accepted; confirm eligibility and expected issuance date.
Required Clinical Skills
- Telemetry monitoring.
- Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias.
- Care of telemetry and telemetry-stroke patients.
- Administration and monitoring of cardiac medications.
- Isolation precautions and PPE.
- Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management.
- Peripheral IV line care and management.
Important: Candidates missing any required clinical skills must be screened carefully before submission.
Schedule & Floating Requirements
- Every other weekend is required.
- Day-shift candidates must work both Saturday and Sunday on their assigned weekends.
- Six weekend shifts in a six-week schedule.
- No on-call requirement.
- Block scheduling is not available.
- Floating to Telemetry is required; facility policy also requires floating within the service line.
- Orientation: 38 hours.

Local & Compliance Rules
- Candidates living within a 75-mile radius are not accepted.
- Maximum 7 days of RTO without additional manager approval; more than 7 days and holiday RTO require approval.
- All RTO must be finalized at submission. No new RTO or schedule requests after submission, offer, or start.
- No RTO during the first week.
- Compliance deadline: 3:00 PM CST on the Monday before the week of the start date.
- Labs must be completed within 48–72 hours of signing.
- Required modules are completed through WorkRamp before the start date; up to 16 hours are billable at $20/hour.
- Previous permanent BJC/Saint Luke’s employees must wait one year before returning as travelers.
- Returning travelers are subject to the 18-month tenure and three-month break policy.
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
- Flu vaccination is required; medical or religious exemptions are permitted.
