Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a rotating day/night shift role requiring 2+ years acute care experience and a CO or Compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit with 36 staffed beds
• Rotating day and night shifts (3x12 hours), various days of the week
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on day shift and 1:5 on night shift, with flexibility based on staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Oncology skills checklist required prior to consideration
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC), OCN preferred but not required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central/PICC line care
• Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, sepsis, hemorrhage, etc)
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring preferred
• Comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to oncology patients including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and psychosocial support
• Manage oncologic emergencies and monitor for treatment-related complications
• Navy scrub color required
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods restricting time off during select weeks
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates may be considered at a different bill rate if residing within 75 miles of the facility
