Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position located in a short-term acute care facility. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care to adults with solid tumor cancers such as lung, breast, and pancreatic, along with blood cancers including leukemia and bone marrow transplants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering chemotherapy, managing ports and central lines, and performing other specialized oncology procedures.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from start date 10/26/2026 to end date 01/25/2027
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS); 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting; flexibility to float within scope to meet facility needs; high school diploma or equivalent required; license in good standing with state requirements or applicable compact license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Administration of chemotherapy (not by a TN unless certified), IV starts, trach care, accessing ports and central lines, stem cell transplantation (not by TN unless experienced).
- Special Equipment: CAD pumps.
- Patient Diagnoses: Medical Oncology - solid tumors such as lung, breast, pancreatic; BMT (not needed for TN unless experienced), leukemia, bone marrow issues. Average patient stay is 3-5 days.
- Additional Information: Will need to pass Relias EKG exam with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Must adhere to RTO policy, including a maximum of 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract, with final approval needed. No local candidates within 75 miles accepted. License in hand at submission required for IL; MO license or compact required otherwise.
- Orientation: Park in the designated garage; wear scrubs; for night shifts, parking is free in employee lot; for rotation shifts, a parking pass may be required for a fee.
