Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Medical-Surgical ICU setting within a hospital
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00, with 36 or 48 hour options
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS and PALS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Experience managing ventilated patients, ABGs, and respiratory failure preferred
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management preferred
• Cardiovascular ICU experience including IABP, Swan Ganz monitoring, and post cardiac surgery care preferred
• Neurological ICU experience including EVD, ICP monitoring, and stroke management preferred

Additional Information

• Care for critically ill medical-surgical ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Responsibilities may include managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, dysrhythmias, and emergency medication administration
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered as locals
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
