License: Must obtain state license prior to start. Certifications: ASCP certifications accepted: MLS, MLT, M, SM, MB, or AMT. Must-Have: Experience with BACTEC, Gram stain, and Beaker preferred. Description: Night shift position from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM. Rotating weekends and holidays required. Work will be performed specifically in the microbiology laboratory. Strong preference for candidates with experience in accessioning and culture methodologies. Familiarity with PCR testing and organism identification is essential. Experience with molecular extractions (RNA or DNA) is advantageous. Candidates must be able to perform Gram stains and culture plating. Successful candidates will be comfortable working with various cultures, including aerobic and anaerobic. Skills in specimen receipt and sensitivities testing are important. Local candidates will not be accepted if within 75 miles of the facility. One reference is required for submission. Previous charge experience is desirable. Experience with hospital clinical laboratory functions is required. Ideal candidates should have familiarity with working in a Level I trauma center.
