The MLT operates laboratory equipment within established policies to provide timely and accurate test results to doctors. This skilled individual is responsible for performing laboratory tests efficiently and accurately for high-quality patient care. The MLT monitors quality control procedures and maintains involvement in the Laboratory Quality Improvement program. The Medical Laboratory Technician analyzes laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results. The MLT enters data from the analysis of medical tests and clinical results into the computer for storage. The MLT sets up, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment. They work with laboratory equipment, helping to prepare and analyze slides and specimens of human blood, tissue, or other cells.
