Description:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist position will float between units as needed.
On-call duty is required as needed.
Weekends are required on a rotating schedule after full competency is achieved.
Block scheduling is not required.
Clinicians are expected to fill schedule gaps as needed, which may include night shifts.
When working 10-hour shifts, the schedule will typically consist of 4x10 hours.
If scheduled for four consecutive night shifts, clinicians will have at least 24-48 hours off before being scheduled again.
The facility type is a short-term acute care and level IV trauma center.
Total staff beds available are 60.
Scrub color is flexible.
Charting is conducted using an electronic system.
Client experience is a plus.
The position does not have specific patient ratio requirements.
Expected skills include blood banking procedures, automated instrument use, specimen collection, and quality assurance controls.
Phlebotomy experience is an additional advantage.
Travelers may float between facilities nearby.
Providers must have a vehicle for this assignment.
This position may require working during major holidays.
Candidates are expected to provide references covering relevant experience.
It is vital to have flexibility in scheduling and willingness to adapt to department needs.
Completion of modules prior to starting is required.
