Must-Have: Verifiable schooling and certification. Description: The position requires a Medical Laboratory Scientist. The shift is from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a schedule of 7 on and 7 off. On-call status is not required but can be offered if desired. The laboratory conducts various medical laboratory testing including Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, and some Microbiology. Some specimen processing will occur throughout the night to cover lunches. Candidates must have familiarity with Siemens Chemistry, System Hematology, IL Top 350 for Coagulation, Beckman Coulter IRIS, and Ortho Vision for Blood Bank. Experience with MicroScan is less critical but preferred. The ideal candidate should possess either a Bachelor's or an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science. The dress code consists of pewter or dark gray scrubs. No weekend or on-call requirements are specified. Candidates with more than 3 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician will be given preference. The unit has a total of 317 beds and 101 staff members. Day shift staffing includes 5 MLS/MLT and 2 Clinical Lab Assistants. Night shift staffing includes 2 MLS/MLT and 1 Clinical Lab Assistant. The patient ratios are not applicable.
