Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist Profession: Medical Technologist Specialty: Lab Duration: 13 weeks (potential for 26 weeks) Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a Client Laboratory environment License: N/A Certifications: MLS or MLT certification through ASCP or equivalent Must-Have: - Candidates must be certified as MLS or MLT through ASCP or equivalent - At least 2 years of experience working in a Client Laboratory environment Description: Facility requires a Medical Lab Scientist for Point of Care Testing. The schedule follows a 7 on/7 off night rotation from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Willingness to perform clerical duties as assigned by Nursing and Lab Director in support of operations is essential. The unit has 10 treatment rooms and a staff of 8 Lab Technologists. There is a day shift position available, but the focus is on night shift roles. Patient ratios may vary, and there are no on-call requirements, though additional hours are possible during off weeks. Every other weekend commitment is required. Typical responsibilities include daily maintenance, quality control, calibrations on analyzers, and patient testing. Experience with specific analyzers is preferred. Skill sets required include effective communication with both lab and clinical staff. Adherence to standard lab safety protocols is essential. The dress code consists of pewter-colored scrubs, with a lab coat provided.
