Key Responsibilities of the Medical Laboratory Technician- Adheres to UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS standards
- Understand and comply with policies and procedures
- Venipuncture skill
- Performs Daily Quality Control & Daily Maintenance per guidelines
- Completes testing in a timely, concise manner
- Operation and Troubleshooting of Chemistry Analyzers
- Operation and Troubleshooting UA Analyzer
- Operation and Troubleshooting Hematology Analyzer
- Operation and Troubleshooting Coag Analyzer
- Blood Bank Testing (type, RH, Antibody Screening, compatibility testing, QC)
- Misc. Testing (serological/micro testing, microscopic, etc.)
- Communication (shares important information with co-workers, supervisor, fellow employees, physicians)
Requirements of the Medical Laboratory Technician- ASCP or AMT certification at time of submission
- Experience using Cerner as EMR
- Blood bank experience is a plus
