If certification has an expiration date, it must be maintained and kept current. State licensure is required. No experience required for graduates of an accredited clinical laboratory training program. One year of approved clinical laboratory experience is acceptable. Description: This job performs all routine and complicated laboratory procedures. It includes specimen processing and handling, testing of patient specimens, and reporting results. Quality control procedures must be performed, along with operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment. Assistance in the development of new procedures and protocols may be required. May perform phlebotomy and other patient-oriented tasks. Other related duties may be assigned as requested or directed. Meets expectations for applicable competencies. Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Calculates, enters, and verifies results of laboratory procedures. Utilizes the Laboratory Information System effectively. Notifies and documents critical laboratory values obtained. Processes patient specimens, including collection and handling. Participates in the evaluation and implementation of new or updated testing procedures. Demonstrates competence in performing assigned patient care responsibilities. Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet developmental needs. Demonstrates adherence to core values. Completes all required compliance and regulatory tasks. Follows all applicable policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
