- Pay Rate:$32 to $35 per hour
Roles and Responsibilities
- Welcome, room, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations and minor procedures
- Perform clinical tasks such as injections, immunizations, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing within scope of practice
- Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and supplies for daily clinical operations
- Accurately document patient information and clinical activities in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Provide clear communication and patient education in both English and the required second language
- Assist patients with appointment scheduling, referrals, follow-up instructions, and other administrative needs
- Help patients understand medications, treatment plans, preventive care instructions, and provider recommendations
- Coordinate with providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support efficient patient flow
- Maintain adequate clinical supplies and assist with inventory management
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, OSHA, and patient safety standards
- Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Support a welcoming, culturally responsive, and patient-centered clinical environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- Current Medical Assistant certification such as CMA, RMA, or CCMA required by facility
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Assistant experience
- Bilingual proficiency required in English and and Spanish
- Current BLS Certification required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care workflows
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy healthcare setting
