Important Conversion Information
- This contract is Temp-to-Hire — only candidates interested in converting to a permanent staff position will be considered
- Full-time pay rate upon conversion is approximately $21–$22/hour
- Contract pay rate must not exceed $22/hour
Role Overview
- This position is a combination of Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Patient Services Representative (PSR) duties
MA Duties
- Room patients
- Handle patient calls
- Book appointments
- Other responsibilities as assigned
PSR Duties
- Answer and manage incoming patient phone calls, voicemails, and email inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate provider calendars
- Collect, review, and organize medical records and supporting documentation
- Track referrals and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation
- Monitor and respond to phone messages, patient communications, and email correspondence
- Upload and manage patient images, records, and other clinical documentation within designated systems
- Maintain accurate patient information and records
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of CMA experience required
- Must be MA Certified
- Must be able to commute to the practice location within 30 minutes
Interview Process
- 30-minute Microsoft Teams video interview (on camera required)
Training Requirements
- HIPAA Module (approximately 15 minutes)
- 5-hour MA training session on a Friday prior to start date, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 4-day onsite PennChart Scheduling training for PSR duties held Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- A test must be passed at the end of training; retakes are available if the test is not passed on the first attempt
Compliance Requirements
- All compliance documentation is due the Wednesday before the start date
- Candidates must be ready to begin the compliance process immediately upon accepting the position
- Medicals and drug screens must be started within 72 hours of accepting the award
- Candidates who do not begin compliance requirements within 72 hours are at risk of the contract being cancelled
