Floating Policy

Travel nurses may float to other nursing units based on patient care needs and staffing demands. Adaptability and clinical flexibility are required when floating to other units. Assignments may include MedSurg in ICU, MedSurg holds in ED, and similar based on need.

Travel nurses will be required to float to multiple locations within the region as needed, always remaining within their scope of practice.

Orientation and Scheduling

• Orientation: New Employee Orientation (NEO) followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
• No call required
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• Requested Time Off (RTO): Approval for up to 6 days off, excluding holidays, with a requirement to add time to the end of the contract if contracted hours are not met
• Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
