Med/Tele/PCU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Med/Tele/PCU unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics, with a focus on cardiovascular conditions and acute medical issues.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Stepdown
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Patient Ratio: RN to patient ratio is 1:4-5, occasionally 5-6 on nights
• # of Beds: 32
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, pacemakers, alcohol-related issues, COVID-19, respiratory conditions, pneumonia, sepsis, and other acute medical conditions

Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive care in a telemetry environment
• Reading and interpreting cardiac strips
• Titrating drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, and others
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Floating to different areas as necessary to provide support and maintain patient care
• Utilizing BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Med/Tele or PCU setting
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred Skills: Epic experience, ability to read cardiac strips, PCU experience

• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday
• Orientation: Two 12-hour shifts during the first week
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs
