Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Med/Tele/PCU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in tele/cardiac nursing with a strong focus on providing high-quality patient care.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 32
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4-5; occasionally 5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow 1:3
• Common Diagnoses: Adults and geriatrics; include patients with cardiac conditions, ETOH, COVID, and acute on chronic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret cardiac strips.
• Titrate medications such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose Dopamine.
• Provide care for patients using BiPAP, trachs, and other respiratory equipment.
• Collaborate with a Charge Nurse who may carry a light patient load.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Med/Tele or PCU setting.
• Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Epic and capable of reading cardiac strips. Experience with titratable drips is essential.
• Other Requirements: Willingness to float to other areas, including PCU and MS, as needed.

Work Schedule

• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts; day and night rotations available.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
• Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday.
• Orientation: 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation before taking the patient load independently.

Dress Code

Any color scrubs are allowed.

Additional Notes

This position primarily focuses on telemetry and cardiac care within a fast-paced environment.
