Med/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med/Tele Registered Nurse (RN) for a challenging role in a busy acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on cardiac and telehealth monitoring. This position involves providing high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics with a variety of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care to adults and geriatrics, including those with cardiac conditions, pneumonia, sepsis, and acute on chronic illnesses.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, ensuring timely intervention when necessary.
• Titrate and administer intravenous medications as prescribed, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, and Lasix.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to manage patient care effectively.
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation and patient management.
• Assist in managing ventilator settings and troubleshooting respiratory equipment as necessary.
• Support and mentor nursing aides and patient care technicians in their duties.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to care plan discussions.

Shift Information

• Shifts: 7a-7p, 7p-7a
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday requirements
• Orientation: 2 shifts of department-specific orientation

Qualifications

• Active RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• PCU experience with ability to read and interpret cardiac strips is mandatory.
• Experience with telehealth and cardiac monitoring is preferred.
• First-time travelers welcome; Epic experience is a plus.

Additional Information

Float to other areas as needed to support patient care in PCU and other departments. Scrubs of any color are allowed. Telemetry and monitor technicians are available to assist with patient monitoring. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4-5, with variations during night shifts.
