Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with at least 3 years of experience and prior travel experience for a night shift assignment requiring an active CA RN license.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:4 across day, night, and weekend shifts
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Floating required
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required in-hand
• CPI Blue Card preferred (required for ER and Float Pool nurses)
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience within the last 2 years for specialized units
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Two supervisor references required at time of application
• Skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy, oxygen administration) preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and care for patients with conditions such as CVA, seizure disorders, renal failure, and cardiac arrhythmias
• Manage cardiac drips without titration, PCA, and IV insulin protocols as needed
• Scrubs not provided; any color accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Previous UC employees must disclose this at time of application for facility approval prior to assignment
• Returning staff must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be confirmed with documentation and finalized prior to manager review, with no RTO permitted in the first two weeks of the assignment
