Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift contract requiring 24 months of recent med surg/tele experience and current charge experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit (3E) at a hospital, 24-bed capacity with 4-5:1 patient ratios
• Patient population includes all types of med surg care, including overflow of post-op surgical hip/knee patients
• Uses heparin drips and remote tele tech unit monitoring
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts, 48 hrs/week (36 hrs/week can be accommodated)
• Weekend rotation required, every other or every third depending on census
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required across multiple campuses
• Holiday rotation required
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of recent Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience required
• Current or recent Charge RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg and telemetry nursing care including post-op surgical hip/knee overflow patients
• Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required, including 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
• Limited time-off requests during late November and December/January holiday periods
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility prefers candidates open to extending beyond the initial 13-week contract
