Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift position in a surgical urology unit, requiring 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience and NIHSS certification.

Details

  • Surgical unit caring for post-op patients requiring overnight stays following procedures such as prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomy
  • Administers Heparin drips as part of patient care
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 36 or 48 hours per week available
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required to other Med Surg/Tele units across local campuses

Requirements

  • Active IA or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
  • Current NIHSS certification required
  • 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Supervisory reference form completed within the last two years required
  • Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Tele discipline required

Additional Information

  • Provide professional and clinical care to patients as part of an interdisciplinary team in a Level 3 Trauma Center
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Winter holiday coverage required: must work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
  • Limited time off requests permitted during the Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year holiday periods
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments in another market within 12 months of separation
