Registered Nurse - MedSurg / Telemetry

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a MedSurg / Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telemetry nursing and the ability to provide high-quality patient care. This position involves working night shifts and may require floating to similar units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the MedSurg and Telemetry units.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting telemetry readings as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and discharge planning.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Shift Details

• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Schedule options of 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, totaling either 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Every other weekend and holiday commitment.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross (ARC) or the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Telemetry experience is required.
• Experience with Meditech software is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Additional Information

A telemetry test will be administered on the first day of orientation to assess competency in monitoring and interpreting telemetry data.
