Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring MA licensure, ortho and post-op experience, and telemetry proficiency.

Details

• Work on a 20 to 34-bed Med/Surg surgical unit within a teaching hospital
• Typical patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), totaling 36 or 48 hours on a rotating basis
• Every other weekend required, with holiday shifts required if needed
• No on-call requirements
• Float to any Med/Surg unit as needed; block scheduling not available

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration (compact license not accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be in hand prior to consideration
• Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical experience required
• Post-op patient care experience required
• Orthopedic patient care experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
• Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
• Must have own vehicle for the assignment
• Willingness to float to any Med/Surg unit required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy surgical Med/Surg unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Personal scrubs of any color permitted
• Must work two full holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
• No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted, and all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application; requests made later will not be approved
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Includes 8 hours of non-billable orientation
