Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 24 months of med surg/tele experience and recent charge or precept experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for all types of medical surgical patients
• Patient ratios of 4-5:1 with a 15-bed unit
• Remote tele tech monitoring for cardiac telemetry patients
• Heparin drip management required
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts totaling 48 hrs weekly (36 hrs can be accommodated if preferred)
• Weekend rotation required every other or every third weekend depending on staffing/census
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float across multiple campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience required
• Proficiency caring for all med surg patient types required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Heparin drip management experience required
• Telemetry/cardiac background highly preferred
• Recent charge or precept experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of med surg and telemetry cases

• Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of the next 3 upcoming holidays unless the unit is closed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
