Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Med/Surg Tele for a 48-bed adult med/surg unit requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and prior neuro experience.

Details

  • 48-bed adult Med/Surg unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
  • Unit averages 3-4 admissions per day
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00pm-7:00am
  • 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • May be placed on standby (SB1) one shift per pay period if census drops
  • Remote telemetry experience highly preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • NIHSS certification required
  • CPI-A certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required
  • Previous neuro experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
  • BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards within a hospital setting
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process while reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
  • Care for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
  • Perform bedside point of care testing as required
  • Participate in discharge planning and coordinate with interdisciplinary team members
  • Collaborate with patients and families to develop and update plans of care
  • Engage in performance improvement activities and unit goal development
  • Growth opportunities available including charge nurse, preceptor, and clinical ladder roles
  • Flexible team players thrive in this fast-paced environment
