Join our team as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in St. Louis, MO, at a leading acute-care hospital. This contract position offers an opportunity to provide excellent care to patients in a dynamic Med Surg unit. We are seeking a dedicated RN with strong documentation skills and a passion for teamwork.
**Position Details:**
- Unit: 6900 GI/GU
- Patient Diagnoses: Ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, GU, medical overflow high turnover surgery patient unit
- Ratios: 1:4-6
- Experience Required: 2 years of Med Surg experience (first-timers not accepted)
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
- Skills Required: Med/Surg, Telemetry (remote monitoring), Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin, Insulin, PCA
- On-call Requirement: No
- Floating Requirement: Within service line
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius)
- Pending License: Accepted
- RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days
- Special Requirements: Epic required, must pass Relias EKG exam (Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required)
- Drips Administered: Heparin, Lidocaine (pain only), Bicarb, Bivalirudin, Amiodarone (Stable Non-Titrated)
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Foleys, CBI continuous bladder irrigation; TURPS, protocols for colorectal patients
